Special Counsel Robert Mueller is gunning for Donald Trump.
His investigation into the Russian collusion is designed to get the President.
Now he’s been called out for hiding things that spell big trouble for Trump.
Donald Trump has repeatedly called the special counsel investigation into the alleged Russian collusion a witch hunt.
Congressional committees, the FBI and the media have been digging into the question for more than a year and have not produced a single shred of evidence.
Those investigations were sputtering, so former FBI Director James Comey leaked memos of his conversations with Trump in order to engineer the appointment of a special counsel.
Mueller took his cue and began expanding his investigation into Trump’s business dealings including decades-old real estate transactions.
That announcement made it clear Mueller wasn’t going to conduct an honest investigation into the 2016 election, he was going to lead a lynch mob to destroy the Trump administration.
Now Trump has been joined in his criticism of the special counsel by two members of Congress.
Arizona Republican Trent Franks blasted Mueller for conflicts of interests and demanded the special counsel resign.
Franks stated Mueller is compromised because of his relationship with James Comey and the fact that he hired Hillary Clinton donors for his investigative staff.
The Washington Times reports:
A REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN IS CALLING ON SPECIAL COUNSEL ROBERT MUELLER TO RESIGN FROM HIS ROLE LEADING THE RUSSIA INVESTIGATION, CITING THE INVESTIGATOR’S FRIENDSHIP WITH FORMER FBI DIRECTOR JAMES B. COMEY.
REP. TRENT FRANKS SAID MR. MUELLER’S RELATIONSHIP WITH MR. COMEY SHOULD MAKE HIM INELIGIBLE TO LEAD A PROBE OF RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE IN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION AND ANY POSSIBLE COORDINATION WITH THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN — THE INVESTIGATION INCLUDES WHETHER THE PRESIDENT FIRED THE FBI DIRECTOR IN AN EFFORT TO UNDERMINE THE INVESTIGATION.
“THOSE WHO WORKED UNDER THEM HAVE ATTESTED HE AND JIM COMEY POSSESS A CLOSE FRIENDSHIP, AND THEY HAVE DELIVERED ON-THE-RECORD STATEMENTS EFFUSING PRAISE OF ONE ANOTHER,” MR. FRANKS, ARIZONA REPUBLICAN, SAID IN A STATEMENT ISSUED TUESDAY. “NO ONE KNOWS MR. MUELLER’S TRUE INTENTIONS, BUT NEITHER CAN ANYONE DISPUTE THAT HE NOW CLEARLY APPEARS TO BE A PARTISAN ARBITER OF JUSTICE.”
- FRANKS, A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, CITED FEDERAL LAW THAT PREVENTS THE SPECIAL COUNSEL FROM SERVING IN THE ROLE IF THE PERSON HAS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST. IN MR. MUELLER’S CASE, THE LAWMAKER SAID THAT CONFLICT IS “A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH ANY PERSON SUBSTANTIALLY INVOLVED IN THE CONDUCT THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF THE INVESTIGATION.”
Robert Mueller’s investigation is the Deep State’s most potent weapon against Trump.
As special counsel, Mueller has a virtually unlimited budget, a wide mandate to investigate anything and everything he deems fit, and is accountable to no one.
The Justice Department could remove Mueller, but members of Congress have hinted they would begin impeachment proceedings if Trump made a move against the special counsel.
Mueller’s probe is a bullet aimed at the heart of the Trump administration.
His hiring decisions and the move to expand his probe beyond the election are a clear sign that this is a political attack on the President.
Conservatives like Franks recognize this and have demanded an end to the Mueller investigation.
Publisher’s note: Can anyone blame Pres. Trump for being upset with Sessions recusing himself for such a flimsy reason when Mueller doesn’t recuse himself for these blatant violations of conflict of interest?
