A Clarification By Publisher of Trumpet on Line

Chuck Baldwin-Food for Thought

We heartily agree with the outstanding article written to the Churches and Pastors of America by our good friend Chuck Baldwin that appeared in the Trumpet on Line yesterday morning Aug. 1, titled: Churches and Pastors Responsible For Destruction of America, that appeared originally in on July 30, 2015.  However, although we are not what is known as “Christian Zionists”, neither do we accept the Libertarian position on the State of Israel as reflected in the statement:  “…the modern state of Israel–a nation that has absolutely NOTHING to do with Biblical Israel.”  We believe that the Abrahamic Covenant is still in effect today as originally mentioned at Gen. 12:1-3; 17:1-21.  We also believe that the present state of Israel is the fulfillment of prophecy as revealed in Matt. 24:32-34 – concerning the “budding of the fig tree, etc.”  We believe that Israel must return to their land in unbelief to be chastised of the “Beast” of Revelation to prepare them to receive their “Messiah” when He returns in Great Glory with His saints to judge the Gentile Nations and to set up His Kingdom.

Our prayer is that all may understand that God’s eternal plan for His church is not to bring in the Kingdom nor the conversion of the world, but as Simeon said when he saw the Christ child in the Temple,

“Luk 2:30  For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

31  Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

32  A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

The Council at Jerusalem

And when the Apostles gathered with James and the First church at Jerusalem to decide the matter of Salvation by Grace alone, they settled the matter as to the mission of the church.  They made it clear as to what the prophecy of Simeon meant.

Act 15:13  And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:

14  Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

The victorious church will be the faithful church, regardless of the cost.   The Jerusalem church took their stand on the doctrine of grace which was the minority doctrine at that time.  It was done at a great personal cost to those that took that position.  But theirs was the victorious church at that time.  At this time the issue is this 501 (c )  (3) issue that some of us raised more than thirty years ago.  Dr. Falwell was severely criticized when he founded the Moral Majority in the 70’s, of which both Chuck and I were close allies during those days, and we heard then from many sources that the church had no business in politics.  Then what do you think our Lord meant when He said that we are the “salt and light” of the world?  Salt hinders corruption.  And that is what the Christian believer should be actively doing in this world wherever he is planted.  We are also “light”, that is light bearers, to shine the gospel of Christ to a lost and dying world in need of a Savior.

But the purpose of the New Testament church is to prepare the Gentile Bride for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ also involves the work of hindering evil at the same time that we are evangelizing.  It is a two pronged purpose for the church’s existence in the world.

We realize that it is conundrum for many as to how we can preach the gospel on the one hand and yet know that the Bible teaches that there will be a progression of evil until the end of the age.  And yet that is exactly what we are to continue to do, oppose evil and evangelize at the same time.   It is inherent in the Great Commission.”   (Mt. 28:18-20).  We are to evangelize and yet “teach all things” that the Lord Jesus taught to his disciples.  Paul said,
“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 2Ti 3:12

13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;”

The Lord Jesus said, “as it was in the days of Noah and in the days of Lot, so shall it be in the coming of the Son of Man.”

Nothing on this earth will keep these things from happening.  It will happen and these things are happening right before our eyes today.

The Church is to “Hinder” the Coming Wicked One

But it is the Holy Spirit working through His church that holds back the Wicked One, and Bro. Chuck is right in chastising the pastors and churches of America for their negligence in neglecting their fiduciary responsibility in this area and believing that evangelizing is the only mission of the church.

2Th 2:6  And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

The church needs to be about “hindering” evil, as well as “going” for God.  The Lord Jesus said, Mat 18:7  Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

Those that are not faithful will be the losers, those that are faithful will be the winners on that day that our Lord rewards His own when he comes.  Discipleship involves faithfulness, fearlessness, and fruitfulness.  And when the Gentile Bride is complete at the end of this present age, those who go into the Kingdom with Him will be that Victorious church (Bride) and then the scripture will be fulfilled that declares: “that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.”

God’s Plan for Israel will not fail

“Rom 11:26  And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27  For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

28  As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.

29  For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

30  For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

31  Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

32  For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

33  O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
